Join us in our Mission to educate,
inspire & bring joy to all ages.
The Colorado Model Railroad Museum is a Non-Profit 501(c) (3) Charitable/Educational Organization, all donations (cash and property) are tax deductible (does not include membership fees). When you donate you invest in the future of model railroading while preserving its rich past.
Monetary gifts ensure the future of the museum by providing for operations and staffing to continue the Museum Mission. Designation to specific programming is available if desired.
Checks can be mailed to:

Donate Your Vehicle
Donate your car, truck, boat, or any motorized vehicle to the museum through an organization called CARS. This is an easy way to dispose of an unneeded vehicle and support the museum. Donate below or call 855-500-RIDE (7433).
The museum accepts donations of model railroading items and railroad artifacts on a case by case basis. Model railroading items are typically used in Youth Programs or taken to the Museum’s annual sale to be put back out into the hobby and raise funds for the museum.
Railroad artifacts need approval through the Collections Committee. View Collections Management Policy Here.
The value of donated items is determined by the donor. As a 501(c)(3) organization you will receive a receipt for your donation for your tax records.
There are many areas of programming at the museum that need business or personal sponsorships. Sponsorship Programs include:
Scouts Sponsorship – provides for the museum to allow free admission to all Scouts and leaders in Uniform. This sponsorship also covers the costs of the Railroad Merit Badge workshops.
Youth Programs Sponsorship – provides for staffing and supplies for our many Youth Programs.
General Museum Sponsorship – provides for staffing for all Museum programs and operational costs of providing this model railroading experience.
